Why not join the Garrick as a member? There’s a wide range of backstage or front of house jobs which are vital to staging performances. You don’t need to have any experience to carry out many of these roles. More...
GARRICK YOUTH has three different groups, currently known as Juniors, Intermediates and Seniors. Groups are split up by ability and age. Senior students work towards a performance on the Main stage in February and all three groups have the opportunity to be involved in different showcase performances and other Garrick productions throughout the year.
Juniors (7-11 years old) meet on a Saturday morning from 9.15am – 11.15am, Intermediates (Year 7 & above) meet on Wednesday & Thursday evenings from 5pm – 7pm and Seniors (up to 18) meet in two sessions on Monday evenings from 5pm – 9pm (swapping to Wednesdays from whenever other Garrick productions are on).
There is no upper limit to the Intermediate classes and no lower limit to the Senior classes as students are moved up when they are ready but typically the move is around 14/15 years old.
Tutor Faye Harrison...
''If your child is looking for a platform in which to explore Acting and The Arts, Stockport's Garrick Theatre offers the best. Not only do performances take place on the Stage, along with a great sound and a lighting rig, but the tutoring offered by Faye Harrison is second to none. Faye creates an environment in which all her students grow in both confidence and technique and they also explore the challenge of devising and writing their own plays. As an actor I have been most impressed by the clarity of all the performances directed by Faye, and as a parent I have been delighted by the group dynamic she creates with her casts. I cannot recommend this Youth Theatre highly enough, for both the young and teenagers alike." Jennifer Hennessy
