Hilarious
farce
Alan Bennett
is one of the country's wittiest
and most wickedly perceptive contemporary
playwrights: and here he does
not disappoint! It is 1919 and
the dying Kafka tries to convince
Max to burn his writings after
his death. Max does not and goes
on to publish all Kafka's work.
Over sixty years later in a suburban
sitting room, Sydney, a Kafka-besotted
insurance agent, his frustrated
wife and elderly father are more
than a little surprised when a
dead but lively Max appears, closely
followed by Kafka and Kafka's
larger-than-life father!
This production promises a lively
and entertaining start to the
New Year.
