A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

BY BURT SHEVELOVE, LARRY GELBART AND STEPHEN SONDHEIM

15-22 June, 7.30pm

A statue that has been gratified with an anarchy symbol

Musical inspired by the ancient farces of Roman playwright, Plautus. A Funny Thing… tells the bawdy story of a slave named Pseudolus and his attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master woo the girl next door - next door being the local brothel.
With all the classic elements of farce, including puns, chaotic chase sequences, mistaken identities and social satire, this is a show still fresh at a mere 2,000 years old.
