What a busy little year at SGT it's been! Remember what you see on stage is only half of our story! Find out more about getting involved in what we do!
Things kicked off in January with Stef Smith's GIRL IN THE MACHINE in our studio, followed by A MONTH OF SUNDAYS by Bob Larbey on the main stage.
In February we saw Stockport Garrick Youth in BLEAK EXPECTATIONS by Mark Evans.
In March a large cast took on Shakespeare's dark comedy MEASURE FOR MEASURE.
In April we put on THERE CAME A GYPSY RIDING by Frank McGuinness in our studio.
In May we put on Stockport-born Simon Stephens' play PORT for a few nights on our main stage.
PORT then went on a little tour around Stockport Community Centres in June! This was followed by Stockport Garrick Youth's production of THE FACTORY on the main stage.
We kicked off our next season - seasons at SGT run like the academic year - with KEN LUDWIG'S DEAR JACK, DEAR LOUISE on our main stage in September.
In October Noël Coward's classic comedy PRESENT LAUGHTER was on the main stage.
In November Nick Payne's modern classic CONSTELLATIONS was on in our studio (keep an eye out for more exciting news about this soon...). Also in November was GHOST STORIES devised by Stockport Garrick Youth in the Garrick Downstairs.
We finished off 2023 with the childhood classic THE RAILWAY CHILDREN, by E. Nesbit and adapted by Mike Kenny, on our main stage.
This doesn't even begin to mention all of the extra things that happen at our theatre during the year, from social evenings, Outside the Box's Comedy Club, Dance school performances, A Blues Festival, Haleh Jalali's Theatre Company rehearsals and performances. Our own weekly groups and events - there's never a quiet moment at SGT.
Don't forget that we have loads on offer in 2024 too!
