We offer world-class theatre training for 7-18 year olds, with weekly workshops facilitated by our professional tutor, Faye Harrison. Five different groups meet on a weekly basis. The youngest group, for 7-11 year-olds, meets on a Saturday morning. The four other groups (two Intermediate and two Senior) are split up by ability and enthusiasm, with students being moved up when they’re ready. Typically the move up is around 14/15 years old. The Intermediate groups meet on Wednesday or Thursday evenings and the Senior groups meet on Monday evenings.
Students work towards performances throughout the year and have the opportunity to be involved in different showcases, workshops and other Garrick productions.
If your child is looking for a platform in which to explore Acting and The Arts, Stockport's Garrick Theatre offers the best. Not only do performances take place on the Stage, along with a great sound and a lighting rig, but the tutoring offered by Faye Harrison is second to none. Faye creates an environment in which all her students grow in both confidence and technique and they also explore the challenge of devising and writing their own plays. As an actor I have been most impressed by the clarity of all the performances directed by Faye, and as a parent I have been delighted by the group dynamic she creates with her casts. I cannot recommend this Youth Theatre highly enough, for both the young and teenagers alike. Jennifer Hennessy, parent of Garrick Youth student & actor ( Dickensian & Doctor Who)
The Garrick Youth Group now also includes a mixed-age group (6 to 17) of home-ed children on Tuesdays from 12m to 2pm!
